Many law firm consultants, prognosticators and pundits have written long blog posts and articles with predictions for law firms in 2014. Given that website visitors don't read (they scan), I prefer tiny bites of information and opinions, as opposed to having to scroll to China.
I have several predictions this year, but I am going to offer only one here – and it is all about experience management. Nothing paralyzes marketers and lawyers more – and nothing inhibits effective selling and cross-selling more than not understanding what you've done and for whom you've done it.
Invest what you have to to get it right in 2014. Firms that are fully and culturally committed to experience management will win more work (and more good work) in 2014 than firms that don't. Period.
For other predictions, this Make More Rain blog post has a thoughtful list of small bites written by lawyers and consultants. I don't agree with all of it, but it is worth reading and considering. http://makemorerainblog.com/2013/legal-predictions-2014/?utm_source=so
I hope that you reflect happily on 2013 and that you are committed to taking positive steps forward in 2014. Thank you for reading! A champagne toast to YOU.
