Smart law firm Benesch is raising money for the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and its Facebook visibility at the same time. If you “like” Benesch, they will donate one dollar – up to $5,000. Such a smart and good move for the law firm. Spread the word, “like” Benesch and let’s see if we can’t help the firm meet its goal in a few short hours.
Coming out of the recession, law firms are more charitable than ever before. Or, at least they are talking more about it on their websites. 81% of the AmLaw 100 firms write about their charitable and civic activity on their websites (according to the 2013 AmLaw 100 Websites: Ten Foundational Best Practices research results that were just released last week at the San Francisco LMA meeting by Content Pilot). This is up from 57.5% in 2010.
Law firms are good corporate citizens. Check the programs listing the donors of any theater, symphony, art or other museum, health and education non-profits and you will see the city’s law firms writing big checks – and volunteering in important ways.
Smart move, Benesch. And thanks!
